If you’re searching for a HYROX training gym that prepares you for the real demands of race day, Combine Air is built for exactly that.
As an official HYROX Affiliate Club, Combine Air supports athletes preparing for hybrid racing across Australia. Whether you’re racing in your home state or interstate, our training environment, programming, and recovery offering are designed to help you perform when it matters.
HYROX is simple in structure but demanding in execution. Repeated one-kilometre runs layered with functional strength and conditioning work expose gaps in aerobic capacity, pacing, strength under fatigue, and recovery. Training for HYROX requires more than random high-intensity workouts. It requires structure, repeatability, and the right environment.
Altitude Training: The HYROX Advantage
Running is the backbone of HYROX. Eight one-kilometre runs under fatigue will challenge even the fittest athletes.
Inside the Combine Air Arena, oxygen levels are reduced to simulate 3,500 metres above sea level. This altitude environment forces your body to adapt by improving oxygen efficiency, aerobic capacity, and recovery between efforts.
For HYROX athletes, altitude training supports:
-
Stronger running performance under fatigue
-
Improved pacing across repeated efforts
-
Faster recovery between workout stations
-
Greater resilience late in the race
Every run, sled push, and conditioning block demands more from your system, so when you return to sea level, race day feels more manageable and controlled.
Structured HYROX Training Programs Across Australia
HYROX preparation at Combine Air is built into our broader training framework.
Strength, conditioning, and hybrid sessions are programmed in structured training blocks to help athletes build capacity without burning out. As HYROX events approach in each state, Combine Air clubs roll out race-specific HYROX training programs and packages, tailored to where athletes are at in their preparation.
Whether you’re:
-
Racing for the first time
-
Chasing a faster finish
-
Stepping up a division
Programming focuses on aerobic efficiency, muscular endurance, repeatable output, and intelligent progression into race-ready condition.
Because Combine Air operates nationally, this approach scales across locations. When a HYROX event is approaching in your state, your local club becomes your HYROX training base.
HIGH-CHARGE: Hybrid Training Every Sunday
Every Sunday, Combine Air runs HIGH-CHARGE, our dedicated hybrid training session designed around HYROX fundamentals.
HIGH-CHARGE blends running or erg work with strength and muscular endurance movements in formats that challenge pacing, transitions, and mental grit. Sessions commonly include:
-
SkiErg and RowErg intervals
-
Wall balls and kettlebell work
-
Sled pushes and pulls
-
Conditioning and run pairings
Sessions may be programmed solo, in pairs, or in “I-go-you-go” formats to replicate race-style fatigue and decision-making.
HIGH-CHARGE is where athletes practise execution under pressure and build confidence in their ability to keep moving when it counts.
Full HYROX Simulations When Your Event Is Near
As each state’s HYROX event approaches, Combine Air clubs run full HYROX simulations.
These sessions replicate race conditions as closely as possible, taking athletes through all eight workout stations and eight one-kilometre runs in order, using race-spec equipment and standards.
Simulations allow athletes to:
-
Dial in pacing and transitions
-
Test nutrition and hydration strategies
-
Practise movement standards under fatigue
-
Build confidence before race day
With access to treadmills, Concept2 SkiErgs and RowErgs, sleds, kettlebells, wall ball targets, turf, and ropes, the numbers you hit in training translate directly to the event floor.
Solo HYROX Training Sessions
For athletes preparing outside of structured program windows, Combine Air also offers solo training sessions.
These sessions allow you to access the Arena outside the class timetable, either alone or with a training partner. They’re ideal if you’re racing interstate, following a personalised program, or want extra time to focus on running, sled work, or hybrid conditioning.
Recovery to Support High-Volume HYROX Training
HYROX training places significant load on the legs and nervous system. Recovery is essential for staying consistent.
Combine Air supports recovery with:
-
Compression boots for leg recovery
-
Infrared sauna for circulation and relaxation
-
Cold plunge for inflammation management and nervous system reset
This allows athletes to train hard, recover properly, and return ready for the next session.
Your HYROX Training Gym, Wherever You Are
Whether you’re racing locally or interstate, Combine Air provides the structure, environment, and support needed to prepare for HYROX.
Train smarter. Recover better. Perform when it matters.
